Towns List Trick or Treating Times, Events

It’s that time of year again, when little goblins and witches will be going door-to-door in search of sweet treats to fill their sacks and give their dentists fits.
Below is a list of trick or treating times in Cape May County municipalities along with other special events planned to make the holiday fun and safe for local children.
• Avalon — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.
On Sat. Oct. 30, the borough Recreation Department will host a Halloween Party at the Avalon Community Hall, at 30th Street and the beach from 1-3 p.m. with a costume contest, refreshments, entertainment and a piñata breaking.
• Cape May — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
• Cape May Point — This borough will provide a hay wagon ride to take children trick or treating. A reservation must be made by calling Borough Administrator Connie Mahon: 8848468 ext. 12. The wagon leaves the firehouse at 5 p.m. Sun., Oct. 31.
• Dennis Township — Trick or Treating will be on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.
• Lower Township — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
• Middle Township — Trick or Treating on Sat., Oct. 30, 5-8 p.m. The township will also host a Halloween Parade on Wed., Oct. 27.
• North Wildwood — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.
There will also be a “Trunk or Treat” at the Municipal Lot, First and Olde New Jersey avenues from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated vehicles.
On Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m., there will be a free Halloween Haunted House at the Elks Lodge at 1st and New Jersey avenues in North Wildwood.
• Ocean City — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m. throughout the city.
A Halloween Parade will be held on Thur., Oct. 28 at 7:15 p.m. on Asbury Avenue between 6th and 11th streets, with bands, floats and costumed participants
There will also be a Downtown Merchants Trick or Treat, Sat., Oct. 30, noon to 3 p.m., 6th to 11th streets on Asbury Avenue at participating merchants as well as free hayrides on the Boardwalk at 8th and 12th streets with free pumpkins, face painting and Trick or Treating.
• Sea Isle City —Trick-or-Treating on Sat., Oct. 30, 4-7 p.m.
• Stone Harbor — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
• Upper Township — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.
• West Cape May — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
• West Wildwood — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
• Wildwood — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
On Fri., Oct. 29, the 30th Annual Halloween Parade will be followed by a FREE Halloween Fun Fair with games, prizes and a ghoulishly good time for the entire family at the Wildwoods Convention Center, located at 4501 Boardwalk in Wildwood. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. at Wildwood and Pacific avenues.
• Wildwood Crest — Trick or treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
On Thur., Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m., the city Recreation Department will host a Trunk or Treat event at the Wildwood Crest Pier parking lot at Heather Road and Ocean Avenue, with a DJ, refreshments and prizes awarded to the best decorated vehicles.
• Woodbine — Trick or Treating on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.
Recreation Commission will be holding a hayride on Sat., Oct. 30 at 6 p.m along the Borough bike path, which parallels Route 550. The Woodbine Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is also sponsoring a Trunk or Treat event along the bike path on Sun., Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.
