Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out our rundown of all the Halloween, harvest, and action-packed fun happening at the shore!
Beach Motocross Races
Friday – Sunday, October 25th, 26th, 27th 2013 from 11 am to 5 pm
Where: Spicer Avenue Beach, Wildwood
Beach motocross racing is coming back to the Wildwoods with a new name and new look! Blue Diamond MX Park has teamed up with Wildwood Motor Events and the Greater Wildwood Hotel & Motel Association to present motocross races on the beach Oct. 25 through Oct. 27. Racers and spectators will experience three full action-packed days featuring vendors, racers, fun, tricks and thrills! The event starts Oct. 25 with practice sessions from 11 a.m. until dusk. On Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 races will begin at 7:30 a.m. All times are subject to change. Spectator tickets are $25 for a weekend pass which includes Fri. through Sun. access. Daily passes are $15 per person and children under 3 enter for free. 13th Annual Cape May Film Festival
Friday – Sunday, October 25th, 26th, 27th
The festival starts Friday at 11:30 a.m. with a film editing workshop that will help you turn your home footage into fun videos. The Friday Night Reception begins at 8pm and is followed by a presentation from NFL Hall of Fame writer Ray Didinger and CBS Sports Announcer Glen Macnow presenting their favorite sports films. On Saturday, we will premiere some of the best films being produced in New Jersey or seen for the first time in the Garden State. Saturday Night, Cape May local Chris Carroll will screen his Oscar nominated film “Beasts of the Southern Wild.” On Sunday, enjoy a matinee of three independent feature films never seen in New Jersey. Avalon Recreation Department Trunk or Treat
Friday, October 25th from 5 to 7 pm
Where: In the parking lot at 29th Street and Avalon Avenue, Avalon
There will be a children’s parade in the lot at 6 p.m. and Decorated Vehicle Awards at 6:30 p.m.
Wildwoods Annual Halloween Parade & Fun Fair
Friday, October 25th from 6:15 to 9:30 pm
Where: Wildwood and Pacific Aves & Wildwoods Convention Center, Wildwood
Halloween in the Wildwoods kicks off Oct. 25 with the Annual Halloween Parade, followed by the FREE Halloween Fun Fair at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Registration and judging for the parade will take place at the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce office at 3306 Pacific Avenue at 5:30 p.m. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. at Wildwood and Pacific Avenues, proceeding south and ending at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Float and non-float divisions of the parade must be registered. Winners from the parade will be announced at the Halloween Fun Fair, set to take place from 7-9:30 p.m. following the parade in the Wildwoods Convention Center. The Halloween Fun Fair will feature games, prizes and a ghoulishly good time for the entire family. All attendees are encouraged to join in the fun by wearing Halloween costumes. Halloween Costume Party
Friday, October 25th from 7 to 11 pm
Where: Ocean City Yacht Club – 100 Bay Rd, Ocean City
The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company invites you to a spooktacular evening of fun at this year’s “Black and Orange” Halloween Costume Party. The event will be held at the Ocean City Yacht Club in Ocean City, NJ. Tickets are $60 per person and $65 after October 14. Proceeds benefit the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company. Middle Township Largest-Ever Harvest Festival
Saturday, October 26th from 10 am to 5 pm
Where: The Middle Township Department of Recreation – 626 Goshen Road, Cape May Court House
This year’s festival will include rides including a mini-helicopter ride and obstacle course, crafters, food vendors, games, kids’ costume contest, a pet costume contest and other new attractions and events. Live music is planned for the Middle Township Harvest Festival with local legend Keith Hickman performing on Mechanic Street, and the band “Soul Shine” performing in the Municipal Parking Lot. Boo at the Zoo
Saturday, October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cape May County Park & Zoo – 4 Moore Rd, Cape May Court House
The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders proudly presents “Boo at the Zoo” at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Wear your costume and join us for this free family event! There will be games, crafts, candy, entertainment, and animals. A costume contest dance party will be held at 11 a.m. (registration opens at 10 a.m. and the awards will be presented at 11:30 a.m.). The Creepy Creatures Animal Show will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. The Creepy Creatures Photo Op will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 609-465-5271.
5th Annual Harvest Festival Antique/Classic Car Show
Saturday, October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Secluded Acres Farm & Garden Center – 1024 Route 47, Rio Grande
The show is sponsored by the Secluded Acres Farm for the benefit of the First Methodist Church of Wildwood Crest. The show opens to the public at 10 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cars and trucks during the show. The public is invited free of charge to view the vehicles being displayed. Refreshments will also be available to purchase as well as pumpkins, apples, mums and other fall and seasonal decorations and items. 23rd Annual Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival
Saturday, October 26th from 10 am
Where: Sea Isle City
Sea Isle City’s 23rd Annual Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival will take place on Oct. 26, sponsored by Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family. Both events will celebrate Sea Isle’s rich Italian heritage while delighting people of all ages with live music and other entertainment. The Columbus Day Parade will begin at 2 p.m. in front of the Sea Isle City Italian American Club on JFK Boulevard (adjacent to the Sea Isle Bridge). The parade will run east along JFK Boulevard, turn right onto Landis Avenue, and continue south on Landis until culminating at 63rd Street, where the City’s Italian Festival will be in full swing at KIX-McNutleys. Sea Isle’s Italian Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, thanks to an Italian Vendors Market with craft and specialty merchandise, delicious Italian delicacies, a display by The Cento Food Corporation, free raffles, and an extensive line-up of entertainment, including musical performances by American Idol finalist Christian Foti, 2013 Sea Isle City’s Got Talent winner Mara Justine, opera singer Joe Avanzato and other entertainers. Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run

Where: Wildwoods Convention Center – 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Oct. 26 is the Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run, a fun and exciting family event for all ages. This festive boardwalk event offers a 5K run along with a one-mile family walk, starting at 10 a.m. – rain or shine. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and vie for prizes in the best dressed categories of Family, Youth, Infant and Best All-Around. All proceeds benefit Wildwoods’ Elementary Schools located on the Island. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for 18 and under. All participants will receive a Pumpkin Run T-shirt. Downtown Merchants Trick or Treat

Where: 6-11 Sts, Ocean City
Participating merchants distribute treats to trick-or-treaters!
Sober Halloween Costume Ball
Saturday, October 26th from 8 pm to midnight
Where: North Wildwood Recreation Center – 10th & Central Aves, North Wildwood
“Sharing The Freedom of Sobriety At the Jersey Shore” hosts plenty of fun, food, dancing, music, and special prizes. Children 12 and under enter free when accompanied by a sober adult. Expect delicious candy and desserts. Donations appreciated.
