Revolutionary War Encampment at Cold Spring
When: Saturday-Sunday, September 7th through 8th from 10 am to 4:30 pm
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village – 720 Route 9, Cape May
Authentically clad and equipped Continental, Loyalist and Hessian reenactors bring the American Revolution to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At the Village’s annual Revolutionary War Encampment, visitors can see demonstrations of drills, equipment, and artillery firing. Civilian reenactors will also demonstrate the role played by typical Americans of the period in supporting the army. $10 for adults, $8 for children.
Annual Roar to the Shore Motorcycle Rally
When: Friday-Sunday, September 6th through 8th
Where: Wildwoods Convention Center and on Oak and Atlantic Avenues
Cape Classics Motorcycle Club presents one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the Northeast. Daily vendors, live entertainment and activities surrounding the Wildwoods Convention Center and at Oak and Atlantic Avenues, Wildwood. Cozy Morley Tribute at Mummers String Band
When: Saturday, September 7th 2013 from 3 to 4 pm
Where: Westy’s Irish Pub – 101 E Walnut Ave, North Wildwood
The Cozy Morley Tribute will begin at 3 p.m. in front of Westy’s Pub. Bobby Morley, Cozy’s wife, along with other family members will attend. North Wildwood Mayor Bill Henfey and former Mayor Aldo Palumbo will also be there. Morley’s friends and fellow performers like Carmen Dee will also come to share stories of Morley’s musical talent and sense of humor. The public is invited to share their memories at that time. They are also welcome to bring flowers, photos, or memorabilia to place at Morley’s statue. Before the Tribute, an impromptu jam session will take place at approximately 2 p.m. Immediately following the Tribute, Duffy String Band and the Philadelphia Mummers Chorus will perform, among other tunes, Morley’s signature song, “On the Way to Cape May.” The Mummers Strut Contest will follow at approximately 4 p.m.
Art For History Fine & Decorative Arts Auction
When: Saturday, September 7th from 6 to 9 pm
Where: Recreation Building of the Ocean View Resort Campground – 2555 Route 9, Ocean View
The Cape May County Historical & Genealogical Society and Museum is holding its sixth annual ART FOR HISTORY Fine & Decorative Arts Auction on Sept. 7, 2013. Hosted by the Turner Family of Ocean View NJ, the event is the premier fund raiser for the Museum. Artists from all over South Jersey support the Museum through the sale of their work. There will be paintings, photographs, decoy carvings, folk art, photographs, jewelry, pottery and glass. We feature many well-known local artists. The evening’s events include both silent and live auctions of art. Many of the artists whose works are available will be present. There will be a sprinkling of antiques in the silent auction. The finest hors’d oeuvres, sweet treats, wine and beer will be served. Live Steel Drum Music will be performed by local musician Bill Bittmann. The Silent Auction begins at 6:30.
Street Rod Show
When: Sunday, September 8th from 8:30 to 11:30 am
Where: Ocean City Tabernacle – 550 Wesley Ave, Ocean City
Rev. Raymond Rizzo, Chaplain to Sportbike Racing Association and NASCAR, makes a special visit to South Jersey this weekend—first at the Millville Motorsports Park and then at Ocean City Tabernacle to speak at both morning services, 8:30 & 10:30 a.m. His appearance coincides with the street rod show this weekend on the Tabernacle grounds. Parts of Asbury Ave. and Wesley Ave. will be closed off for the show and to provide the usual free parking for guests attending Tabernacle services and the show. Music is by the Girlchoir of the Commonwealth Youth Choirs, along with soprano Cynthia Rasmussen.
Tabernacle UMC’s Anniversary Concert

Where: Tabernacle UMC- 702 Seashore Road, Erma
We hope you will join us for Tabernacle UMC’s Anniversary concert, “Soli Deo Gloria: To God Alone Be the Glory!” On Sunday, Sept. 8th, at 7pm, Tabernacle will host a diverse potpourri of music in praise of our Lord through the talents of many esteemed guest musicians. The evening’s selections will range from the timeless beauty of J.S. Bach to the contemporary exuberance of “Great Are You Lord,” by Michael W. Smith, and will feature vocal artistry, organ and piano duet, trumpet, and more. We are pleased to welcome Jeff and Carla Smith, distinguished vocalists from the Philadelphia area as the highlight of the concert. Jeff is currently the director of the highly-acclaimed Philadelphia Boys Choir. The concert will also feature numbers by local organist Debbie Dilworth, Rowan University trumpet graduate Andrew Ennis, pianist Cherilyn Ayres of the Towanda, PA area, and pianist Joanna Barouch. Enjoy an evening of praise and honor as we celebrate God’s gift of music to His people.
