Fall Rummage Sale

The Holy Trinity Episcopal Church annual fall indoor rummage sale will take place Fri. and Sat., Oct. 18 and 19. The event is being held in the hall adjacent to the church at 2998 Bay Avenue in Ocean City. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fri. and 9 a.m. to noon on Sat. This sale specializes in adult and children clothing, linens, shoes, handbags and books. There is plenty of free off-street parking on the church lot. GWCOC Fabulous ’50s & Beyond Weekend

The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce presents the 10th Annual Fabulous ‘50s and Beyond Weekend Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 in the Wildwoods – a two-day celebration paying tribute to the 1950s and highlighting the Wildwoods’ role in the birth of Rock ‘n Roll music. The fun begins Friday night, Oct. 18, inside the Wildwoods Convention Center with a Dance Party from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. Oct. 19 will feature an afternoon of outdoor fun and music during the free Fabulous ‘50s Street Fair at Fox Park from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday evening at 7 p.m., the weekend’s featured event – the Fabulous ‘50s and Beyond Concert – will take place in the Oceanfront Arena at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Quilt Show

South Shore Stitchers quilt guild is holding a Quilt Show Friday, October 18 and Saturday October 19 from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, October 20th from 11 am to 3 pm. The event which will feature over 200 beautiful quilts and numerous other activities will be held at the Upper Township Community Center, 1750 Rt 50, Tuckahoe, NJ 08250. 2nd Annual “Oktoberfest”
Friday-Sunday, October 18th, 19th, 20th starting at noon
Where: Cape May Airport – 507 Terminal Dr #102, Erma
The Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce our second annual “Oktoberfest”. The event will be held at the Cape May Airport (Erma, New Jersey, 08204) during the weekend of October 18th-20th, 2013, rain or shine starting at 12 noon on Friday. Beginning on Friday, October 18th, there will be a DJ inside of the tent along with many festive foods, drinks, souvenir mugs, t-shirts, sweat shirts and a host of other themed vendors. Saturday October 19th will be the official start of the festival, with the area and tent open from 9am-10pm. Saturday will include the delightful sounds of the Shannon Vail Duo, Duffy String Band and Get Down Daddy inside the tent, as well as the intertwined sounds of our DJ, continuing through Sunday.
“An Evening in Cape May Wine Country”

Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation will host “An Evening in Cape May Wine Country” at the Cape May Winery on Oct. 18, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Members of the committee are planning a fun filled evening of wine tasting, fine foods catered by the Washington Inn, music by local musicians, a silent auction and an opportunity to hear about the Thomas & Claire Brodesser, Jr. Cancer Center at Cape Regional Medical Center. All proceeds for the evening will be designated for the Cancer Center Capital Campaign that has raised $3.5 million towards a $5.0 million goal. Dare to Dash 5K Run/Walk

AppleFest

Where: John Wesley Gandy Farmstead – 26 Tyler Rd, Ocean View
Demonstrations by traditional craft artisans, an Apple Bake Shoppe, cider, hot dogs, sauerkraut and bratwurst, plus much more. Apple Pie Baking Contest for kids and adults begins at 2 pm. Children and adults alike can compete in a horseshoe pitching contest. There will also be live entertainment on site. No admission charge or parking fees. Rea’s Harvest Fair

Where: Rea’s Farm Market – 400 Stevens St, West Cape May
Come to a Rea’s Harvest Fair held on a working farm famous for their WCM lima beans, Jersey Tomatoes, Beach Plum Jelly, and “The West Cape May Pumpkin Patch.” Take a ride to the pumpkin patch, get your face painted, pick out your favorite pumpkin, or play with the critters. Lots of vendors for the parents and grandparents – antiques, collectibles, arts n crafts, candle making, wood craving, clothing, jewelry, and much more. 22nd Annual Pumpkin Festival
Saturday, October 19th from 10 am to 4:30 pm
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village – 720 U.S. 9, Cape May
It’s the spookiest time of the year at the Village! Celebrate all things Halloween and autumn at the 22nd Annual Pumpkin Festival. This fun, free event will take place on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rain date: Oct. 20) and is presented by the Lower Township Rotary Club. Admission is free! Guests are encouraged to donate non-perishable goods to the ‘Share the Harvest’ Food Drive. Families can enjoy pumpkin painting and games throughout the day. A variety of crafters will sell their wares along the Village’s shell-paved lanes. Vendors will be selling hot dogs, funnel cake, and other snacks. Visit a haunted house at the Village Barn and hop on a fall hayride through the farm. Don’t miss the Children’s Halloween Parade at noon. Sea Isle City’s Octoberfest

Where: Excursion Park – JFK Boulevard & the Promenade, Sea Isle City
On Oct. 19, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization will host their annual Octoberfest celebration at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and the Promenade, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family-friendly event will include free hayrides on the beach, live music by the Philadelphia German Brass Band, produce and craft vendors, a magic show, pumpkin painting and free children’s activities including face painters, balloon artists, inflatable obstacle courses and a rock-climbing wall.The Octoberfest Pie-Baking Contest will take place on Oct. 19 at The Braca Café on JFK Boulevard. To enter the Octoberfest Pie-Baking Contest, bakers must submit a completed entry form by Oct. 17. No entry fee is required. TEDx Cape May

In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TEDx returns to Cape May this year at Convention Hall for a full day of diverse performances and presentations under the provocative theme: “Nature & Nurture.” The TEDx Cape May program features more than 12 outstanding artists, writers, and social entrepreneurs, as well as a chef, musician, scientist, and educator. In addition to the added TEDTalk videos, attendees receive a gourmet boxed “shoobie” lunch and an evening open bar reception at Congress Hall. Cape May’s Annual Halloween Parade

Hundreds of children will parade down Washington Street Mall, the starting point for the city’s annual Halloween Parade, on October 20. The parade kicks off at 3 p.m. at the Perry Street end of the mall. Judging begins at 2 p.m.
CMC Beach Plum Association Oyster & Clam Roast

The Cape May County Beach Plum Association will hold its Third Annual Oyster and Clam Roast at Cape May Winery on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 6 pm. This popular event will feature fresh roasted oysters, clams, along with pulled pork and fried chicken. Top off your meal with a delicious glass of wine and beach plum desserts. The event will include live music as well as a Chinese Auction featuring artwork and items from local artists and businesses throughout Cape May and Atlantic Counties.
