The Wildwoods Convention Center Reopens

WILDWOOD – Hurricane Sandy has come and gone, and the Wildwoods Convention Center has re-opened for business with no damage as a result of the historic storm.
“We were very humbled by the size and scope of this super-storm, but we gratefully report that the Wildwoods Convention Center is fully operational at this time,” said John Siciliano, executive director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority. “When the Convention Center was built in 2002, an expansive, well-designed sand dune was put in place, and serves as a natural barrier protecting the building from tidal water damage,” he explained.
The Boardwalk and all the amusement piers are completely intact; and a majority of the five-mile island’s businesses, hotels and attractions that were open before Sandy arrived are resuming business as usual and once again readily welcoming guests to enjoy the remaining months of 2012.
“Our thoughts and sympathies remain with those who are still recovering from this historic storm,” said Siciliano.
