The Virginia Hotel’s Ebbitt Room Offers a New Stylish Dining Experience

By Steve Dunwoody

The Virginia Hotel, Cape May’s foremost luxury hotel, is excited to announce the renovation of their signature restaurant, The Ebbitt Room. With a refurbished modern dining and lounge area, a new American menu featuring seasonal farm-to-table ingredients as well as signature cocktails and small bites, the new Ebbitt Room offers a fresh and sophisticated look for casual dining.
Introducing unforgettable new menus of classic American cuisine, Executive Chef Lucas Manteca has crafted exquisite dishes ranging from Tuna Tartar to Short Rib Sliders, paired with Vanilla Bean and Citrus Whiskey Punch created by resident mixologist Lawrence Green. The reasonably priced menus will vary by season in order to showcase the best Beach Plum Farm has to offer.
Adding ambiance to the cuisine, The Ebbitt Room’s new look is hip and casual with a sophisticated feel. “We made the Ebbitt Room more accessible with a fun, warm, seashore feeling that exudes classic American” remarks General Manger Justin Mogavero. He adds, “The new relaxed space is inviting and informal which was essential for creating the lively kind of energy that is needed in a seaside establishment.”
Guests have the option to dine in the main dining room, featuring rustic bamboo walls, a chocolate ceiling and muted light fixtures. The main dining room offers an extensive American menu complete with classic favorites with a Jersey shore twist. While others may prefer a more casual atmosphere, they can also experience the updated lounge area with a new larger full-fledged bar made of soft maple that extends into the dining room creating a free-flowing space. This laid-back environment is complete with a piano that adds to the lively feel in a comfortable setting. Separate lounge menus are also available with small plate and snack options for those who prefer a lighter meal.
The perfect venues for relaxation, the Virginia Hotel Lounge and the Front Porch are also favorite gathering spots for Cape May locals. With optimal people watching in-season and crackling fireplaces in the off-season, the Virginia Hotel is the ideal place for a glass of wine and a quick snack. This year, The Virginia announces the arrival of “Punch on the Porch” a mix of high, low and no (alcohol) options which includes flavors such as Life Guard Rum Punch, Virginia White Tea Sangria, and Beach Plum Cup (sans liquor).
