THE WILDWOODS – Morey’s Piers’ inaugural Halloween event, Morey’s FEARS- Terror on the Boardwalk will bring fear to the pier beginning this weekend. Morey’s staff has been focused on training actors, conceptualizing shows and creating two all new attractions to terrify guests.
CornStalkers, a custom-built corn maze, has kept the crew busy for the last three weeks. The crew has been creating props, scenery and arranging thousands of cornstalks to create the terrifying twists and turns of the maze. Located right on the beach behind Raging Waters, the unique setting presents a series of challenges.
“We needed to build a complex frame in the sand to shape the maze and then we affixed about 15,000 cornstalks to that,” said Will B. Morey, Area Manager. “Then we had to get electricity out to the beach for the lighting effects and soundtrack. This is like nothing we’ve ever done before.”
Morey’s FEARS will also feature a creepy clown themed scare zone known as CarnEvil where the games will be rigged, the snacks may attack and the clowns could catch you! CarnEvil will be located on Mariner’s Landing next to Moby Dick.
“Both attractions have ample space for our actors to roam around and deliver high impact scares,” said Terry O’Brien, Ghost Ship Manager.
Visit CarnEvil and CornStalkers at Morey’s FEARS- Terror on the Boardwalk on Fri. and Sat. nights through 29 from 6:30 – 11 p.m. This is a gated event and admission will be required. Tickets are $25 and include unlimited access to all available rides and attractions for the night.
Be warned: this event is not for the faint of heart (or children under 8). Guests are not permitted to wear masks, costumes and/or makeup to the event.
