SEA ISLE CITY – Join members of the Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club and Landshark Lager for an evening of “partying with a purpose,” at their 11th-annual “Spring Island Frenzy” fundraiser, Saturday, April 17, at the Ocean Drive, in Sea Isle City.
Spring Island Frenzy is the Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club’s largest annual fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit local Cape May County charities Volunteers in Medicine and the Brendan Borek High Tides Memorial Fund. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with a deejay and fun tropical décor provided by Scenic Designs. The popular Jimmy Buffett tribute band “Parrotbeach” will take the stage at 9:00 p.m.
Admission to Spring Island Frenzy is $10.00 and includes a free cheeseburger in paradise buffet and lots of give-aways. Tickets are available in advance from the Ocean Drive by phone, at (609) 263-1000, and at the door. The club is located at 40th Street and Landis Avenue, in Sea Isle City.
Brendan’s Fund is an Avalon-based grass roots organization that lends support to local children suffering from pediatric cancers. It is named for Brendan Borek, an Avalon teenager who inspired many with his brave battle against a rare form of pediatric cancer.
Volunteers in Medicine, celebrating its seventh anniversary this month, offers free, comprehensive medical services to those with no insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare. Last year, the JSPH Club donated $5,000 to the two organizations with the proceeds of 2009’s Spring Island Frenzy.
The Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club brings together people with similar interests in the music of Jimmy Buffet and organizes social gatherings, charitable fundraisers, and community service events throughout the year. In a decade of “Partying with a Purpose,” the club has donated more than $60,000 to local charities. All are welcome.
