Teeny Yogini’s Kids Yoga Camp Returns to Cape May This Summer

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY – Tiffany McClintock returns to Cape May this June offering her internationally acclaimed yoga-based program for kids. Building on the success of her previous camp last summer, creator and owner of Teeny Yogini, McClintock returns again to teach children creative and imaginative yoga practices, techniques and games to help relax the body, calm the mind, and lift the spirit. McClintock and her staff will be leading children ages 4-12 this summer for two weeks (June 25 to July 2) at Joanne Reagan Dance Studio in Cape May.
First introduced to yoga through her 20 years of studying theatre, McClintock began her formal study of yoga while pregnant with her daughter twelve years ago and it has been her passion ever since. After completing her BS at West Chester University, she began to teach children from pre-school to second grade incorporating yoga into the daily curriculum.
Originally certified in Children’s Yoga under the mentorship of Jill Cummings, McClintock has brought her creativity and love for children to schools throughout Philadelphia. One happy parent whose daughter attends McClintock’s classes in Philadelphia said, “Since practicing yoga, my 5-year old, Gianna, has been more focused and much calmer than ever before.”
Many children and adults alike who suffer from ADHD, stress, and anxiety have found relief through a regular practice of yoga. Its quiet, precise movements focus your mind less on your busy day and more on the moment as you move your body through poses that require balance and concentration.
“The breathing and relaxation methods used in yoga have been proven to help relieve a variety of chronic health conditions,” explains Judy Heany, owner of Balance Pilates & Yoga Studio in West Cape May. “Many are linked to the fast pace of life we now face and the stress this speedy world creates. Yoga can teach children, as well as adults, how to slow down, focus the mind, and relax the body thereby relieving stress and leaving oneself with a deep sense of calm and peace.”
Tiffany McClintock’s Kids Yoga Camp will be offered for two weeks this June. The first session starts Monday June 21st and runs through June 25th; the second June 28th to July 2nd. The second 5-week session begins August 3rd. Both camps starts at 9:00 am and end at 12:30 pm daily. Space is limited. To register, call 609-884-3001or 215-500-2829. The cost is $150.00 per week per child.
