SEA ISLE CITY – The Eastern Surfing Association’s South Jersey District will host a two-day surfing competition in Sea Isle City on Saturday, June 4 and Saturday, June 11. The competition will take place on Sea Isle’s 40th Street Beach starting at 8:00 a.m. each day. On June 4, 2A and3A Short-board Age Division surfers and Body-boarders will compete. On June 11, the event will feature Open Short-board and all Long-board divisions as well as Stand-up Paddle-boarders.
The ESA is the largest amateur surfing organization in the world, which features many divisions of surfers in all age groups, male and female alike. According to Brian Heritage, owner of Heritage Surf and Sport, co-sponsor of the event, the competition in Sea Isle City is an ideal opportunity for amateur surfers to “cut their teeth” and display their surfing prowess in front of ESA judges.
