CAPE MAY — Coast Guard Training Center Cape May will hold four sunset parade ceremonies this summer to introduce the community to the Coast Guard’s newest guardians. The first parade will be held Sunday at 7:45 a.m. Gates at the training center will be open 30 minutes before the event.
Sunset Parades are colorful, inspiring military ceremonies featuring the recruit band, drill team, marching troops, cannon fire, and a low level fly over by a Coast Guard helicopter.
They take place at sunset on the training center’s parade grounds and are open to the general public. There is no admission charge and children are welcome to attend, but must be accompanied by an adult.
No pets are allowed.
Parade schedule is: July 4, at 7:55 p.m.
Aug. 1, at 7:40 p.m.
Sept. 5, at 6:45 p.m.
For more information community members may contact CWO Veronica Colbath at 609-898-6362.
