Summer Shore Slams: Camp Fire Stories

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — Every one has a story. The center for Community Arts and the Nature Center invite families to gather round the campfire for a friendly storytelling and poetry competition. Come share a story or poem based on the themes for the night.
Stories are limited to five minutes and poems must be no longer than three minutes.
Individuals interested in participating must sign up by 6:15 p.m. Their names will be put in a bucket – 10 names are drawn from a bucket in each category, and each contestant will tell a story or poem to win the crowd. Bring your picnic baskets, blankets and chairs to spend an evening and spend a yarn.
On Tues., July 6, the theme is Dark, Damp and Slimy. Camp Fire Stories will be held at the Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave., Cape May.
The fee is $5 per person donation at the door. Children three and under are free. Marshmallows and lemonade are included. Bring your own dinner goodies to picnic in the lawn or bring a dessert item to share.
For more information, call the Nature Center at 609-898-8848 or CCA at 609-884-7525.
