Submarine Legacy and Researching Your Home Topics at Thursday Nights at the Museum

Ocean City – The Ocean City Historical Museum announces its Thursday Nights at the Museum summer lecture series, which continues through September 2nd.
On Aug. 12th learn about Ocean City’s own Simon Lake and his inventive nature with Bill Jenkins. Hear stories of submarine development from the Civil War era CSS Hunley to the Argonaut submarine legacy of Simon Lake. The lecture will be held at 7:00 PM in Room N116 at the Ocean City Public Library/Community Center, 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City.
On Aug. 19th Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti will present Researching your House History through Public Records. The Cape May County Clerk’s Office is the repository of land, court and other public records dating back to 1692. Learn how to research back deeds, maps and public documents to discover your house history.
Fulginiti will illustrate with a case study from a well known Ocean City property and will speak about the Ocean City Association’s impact on the development of Ocean City. The lecture will be held at 7:00 PM in the new lecture hall at the Ocean City Public Library/Community Center, 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City.
All lectures are free. The lecture series is made possible through an outreach funding grant provided by the Ocean City Free Public Library Board of Trustees. Additional funding support provided by the City of Ocean City.
