Stockton Goes to the Beach Concerts Return to Cape May

CAPE MAY – Stockton Goes to the Beach returns to the intersection of Stockton Place and Beach Avenue at Cape May Convention Hall. The entertainment lineup is: July 8 – John Ford Coley with special guest Robbie Dupree and The Yacht Rock Revue; July 15 – Christopher Cross; July 22 – Helen Reddy; July 29 – Ronnie Spector; Aug. 5 – Chad & Jeremy; Aug. 12 – Peter Noone.

On July 8 – John Ford Coley – John Ford Coley is most famous for hit songs such as: “Love Is The Answer,” “Gone Too Far,” “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight,” “Nights Are Forever,” “We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again,” “Come Back To Me,” “Soldier In The Rain,” “Sad To Belong,” “Simone,” “Westward Wind” and “Part of Me, Part of You.” Robbie Dupree, is a singer-songwriter best known for his 1980 top ten pop hit, “Steal Away.”
The Yacht Rock Revue is the Greatest Show on Surf and the finest tribute to ‘70s light rock to ever perform anywhere. Ever. Their spot‐on renditions of Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and the rest of the Time‐Life Infomercial Catalog have enthralled fans across the United States.
On July 15 – Christopher Cross was by far the biggest new star of 1980, who virtually defined adult contemporary radio with a series of smoothly sophisticated ballads including the #1 hit, “Sailing.” Cross will perform his hits, including: “Sailing,” “Ride Like the Wind,” “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do),” “All Right,” “No Time for Talk,” and “Think of Laura.”
On July 22 – Grammy-Award-winning songstress Helen Reddy’s hits include: “I Am Woman,” “Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress,),” “Angie Baby,” “Delta Dawn” “I Don’t Know How To Love Him” and “You And Me Against The World.”
On July 29 – Ronnie Spector – as lead singer of the ultimate girl group, The Ronettes – recorded a long string of classic pop hits: powerful, poignant teen anthems like the Grammy Award-winning “Walking in the Rain,” “Do I Love You,” “Baby I Love You,” “The Best Part of Breaking Up,” “I Can Hear Music,” and the international Number One smash “Be My Baby.”
Aug. 5 – From humble beginnings in coffee houses and folk clubs in London, Chad & Jeremy were ‘discovered’ by famed movie composer John Barry and recorded a string of hits: “Yesterday’s Gone,” “Summer Song,” “Willow Weep For Me,” “If I Loved You,” “Before and After” and “Distant Shores.”
On Aug. 12 – Peter Noone & The Herman’s Hermits sold over 80 million records and had twenty Top 20 hits including: “I’m Henry VIII, I Am,” “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter,” “There’s A Kind Of Hush,” “I’m Into Something Good,” “ Silhouettes,” “Wonderful World,” “Just A Little Bit Better,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “A Must To Avoid” and “Listen People.”
