STONE HARBOR — The William Ris Gallery will host a showing of pastel paintings of southern New Jersey by regional artist Stan Sperlak of Court House. There will be a reception to meet the artist on Sat. Aug. 7 from 7-9 p.m. at the gallery, 9400 Second Ave.
Sperlak is well known throughout the mid Atlantic for his very colorful and often moody landscapes of the simple and sublime scenes of Cape May County. The ocean, bay, marshes and skies are all featured in different weather and times of day.
Sperlak has won many awards for his work and is also now a nationally recognized instructor of outdoor painting. His recent limited edition book “The View from My Easel” will be available at the gallery. For more information 609-368-6361.
