VILLAS – Lower Township has a cure for the mid-week blues, two, free Wednesday night concerts featuring top tribute bands.
Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation in association with the Cape May-Lewes Ferry is presenting free summer concerts at the ferry terminal grounds in North Cape May
Finish your Wednesday afternoon with the music of “The Boss” or the best of Motown and the disco era.
On July 10, The BSTREETBAND- “A Tribute to the Boss,” will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. with the music of Bruce Springsteen.
Along with Springsteen favorites, the band plays songs from Roy Orbinson, Billy Joel, Tom Petty and John Mellencamp. The BSTREETBAND opened for Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band at the final four shows at the Philadelphia Spectrum.
The Sensational Soul Cruisers perform July 24 at 5:30 p.m. The 11-man band, featuring a horn section, is fronted by four soulful vocalists paying homage to classic performers from Otis Redding and the Drifters to Barry White and the Commodores.
The Sensational Soul Cruisers were joined on stage in Asbury Park by Springsteen in 2011.
The free concerts will be held on the spacious green lawn behind the ferry terminal along the Cape May Canal.
“Bring a beach chair or blanket and see the greatest sunsets in New Jersey,” said Jim Ridgway, assistant superintendent of parks and recreation. Food and beverages will be available. No carry in of alcoholic beverages will be permitted. The concerts will be held rain or shine.
