Sluice Gallery to Host Second Art Exhibit

GOSHEN — On the evening of Sept. 25, Sluice Creek Gallery at the Cape May Bird Observatory will present its second art exhibit of the year, featuring some of this region’s finest artists.
A “Bayshore View” will include photography of the bayshore area by Geoffrey Ansell Agrons, pottery by Susan Ross, new work from painter David Kiehm with folk art and wildlife carvings exhibited by approximately 15 area artists including Jode Hillman, Joan Seibert, David Rhodes, George Elmer, George Strunk Laurel Dabbs, J.P. Hand and Harry Shourds.
The show, which runs through the December holidays, highlights the beauty and vitality of the South Jersey Bayshore area and presents an outstanding example of artistic talent .
All work will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will support the mission of the non-profit organization.
“We are very excited about this new art venue” comments Cape May Bird Observatory Director, Pete Dunne. “Throughout this past summer, we have attracted interested visitors from all over the world as well those in our own backyard. We plan to continue offering quality exhibits that celebrates the relationship between art and nature.”
Susan Zipper, exhibit designer and gallery coordinator relates “there have been quite a few sales from our last exhibit…in this economy, people can experience quality one- of- a -kind gifts, and the opportunity to support the arts and the natural environment with their purchases.”
The public is invited to attend the Saturday evening reception from 7-9 p.m. Many of the artists will be present and light refreshments will be served.
