By Sponsored Content

OCEAN CITY – This summer there will be cheers and applause when it rains for four performances at the historic Ocean City Music Pier. The excitement will be coming from audiences enjoying the splashy production of Singin’ in the Rain being presented by the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company and Ocean City POPS Orchestra. You have seen the iconic movie but have you seen it live on stage with a talented company of singers, dancers and musicians.
1920s Hollywood is the setting for Singin’ in the Rain, a zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film, when many a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star. The MGM classic has been faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green from their original award-winning screenplay. The score is packed with brilliant dance numbers and superb tunes including “Make ’em Laugh,” “Moses Supposes,” “Good Mornin’,” “You Are My Lucky Star” and the title song.
The cast of Singin’ in the Rain features professional triple-threat performers who auditioned in New York City for their chance to work with the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company under the director of Michael Hartman. Match the talented cast, beautiful costumes and creative set with the stunning sounds of the professional Ocean City POPS Orchestra and you truly have Broadway in America’s Greatest Family Resort.
Don’t miss Singin’ in the Rain on July 7 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and July 10 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $20-$25 and can be purchased by calling 609-525-9248 or by visiting www.ocnj.us/boxoffice.
