SEVEN MILE BEACH — Ladies and gentlemen, start your appetites.
Planning for the inaugural 7 Mile Restaurant Week June 4-11 is well under way. Nearly 40 restaurants have leaped forward to participate in what promises to be a great chance for diners to experience all the culinary wonders that Avalon and Stone Harbor have to offer – from seafood and filet mignon to pizza and ice cream – and everything in between.
The concept is that participating establishments will team up to promote the island’s cuisine by offering special prices for the week. Participating restaurants are offering: three-course dinners at $29.10; lunch for two at $20.10; and breakfast at $9.10.
Lizanne Tracy, co-owner with her brother Scott Zurawski of three restaurants – Sea Grill, Princeton Bar & Grill and Circle Tavern – says she is thrilled with how restaurant owners and sponsoring organizations have teamed up to plan the first 7 Mile Restaurant Week and sees it as only growing bigger and better in the future.
“We’re hoping to draw attention to the fact that we have so many great restaurants on Seven Mile Island and to attract both locals and visitors to come check us out,” Tracy said. “Each year, we’re expecting to get even stronger and draw customers to other businesses, like the hotels and stores, as well.”
Major sponsors of the event are Sysco, Kelly Products, Rastelli Meat and Seafood and Peroni Beer, as well as R & R, American B & D, Singer Equipment, South Jersey Paper and 7 Mile Times.
