OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Historical Museum announces its Thursday Nights at the museum summer lecture series, which continues through Sept. 2.
On July 22, see Secrets of the Vault: Museum Treasures. Ever wonder what museums do not display? Want to know what is really in storage? Join the Curatorial Committee as they cull special treasures from storage. See what is usually tucked away.
Reception will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the museum. Lecture to follow at 7 p.m. in the lecture hall.
On July 29 hear Fred Miller talk about the history of the Ocean City Beach Patrol. Miller, using photographs from his book, Ocean City Beach Patrol, will discuss the 112 year history of the Ocean City lifeguards. Learn how the lifeguards have been keeping swimmers safe since 1898.
All lectures are free and are held at 7 p.m. in the new lecture hall at the Ocean City Community Center 1735 Simpson Ave.
The lecture series is made possible through an outreach-funding grant provided by the Ocean City Free Public Library Board of Trustees. Additional funding support provided by the City of Ocean City.
