Second Sunday Gallery Walks in Cape May

Six local art galleries join together to offer “Second Sunday Gallery Walks in Cape May” starting November 14th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Tour Cape May’s finest galleries, featuring many local artists and artisans. Browse, chat and enjoy refreshments as you stroll from gallery to gallery along the Victorian streets where you can start your Holiday shopping in style. Representatives or artists from each gallery will be present to assist you with information about the artists and their work. Walking maps are available at each gallery. This free monthly event is a partnership of the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery, Gail Pierson Gallery, Splash, Spirit Catcher Photography, Soma NewArt Gallery and Mad Batter Restaurant.
Start your gallery walk at the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery located just inside the West End Garage, 484 West Perry Street, Cape May, where there is plenty of free parking nearby. Featured this month at the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery are photographer Scott Whittle, gourd artist Anne Lentz and art dolls and gourds by Lori Sekella.. Stroll down to Carpenters Square Mall at 31 Perry Street to Spirit Catcher Photography and see new works on canvas and metal by photographers Tina Giaimo and Don Merwin. Also at Carpenters Square Mall, SOMA NewArt Gallery presents a new exhibit by The St. Barnabas Painters, “Twelve Artists- Selected Works”. South Jersey artisan Peter Lee and his custom made rocking chairs are featured at Splash Whales Tale Gallery, just 2 blocks away at 513 Carpenters Lane. Take a short stroll to the Gail Pierson Gallery, located at 658-660 Washington Street to view Nancy Tankersley’s exhibit, “People at Work” and works by photographer Blair Seitz, watercolors on silk by Laurie Schiffelbein and more. Here the Prickly Pear Weekend is in full swing once again, offering original and diverse works from The Cape May County Art League. End your Second Sunday Gallery Walk at the Mad Batter Restaurant at 19 Jackson Street. An Artists Reception will be held from 3-5 pm with watercolors by Maria Natale in The Main Dining room gallery, mosaics by “Sisters Art” artist’s, Pam, Robyn and Melanie Huber in The Gallery Room and Janet Payne’s block prints and photography by Tina Giaimo in the Terrace Garden. Here you can even take advantage of Happy Hour from 4:00PM – 6:00PM and receive a 15% discount on dinner afterwards.
