SEA ISLE CITY, NJ – On June 20, Sea Isle City’s Division of Tourism will host their annual Sara the Turtle Festival at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The festival will include a variety of free family activities, live entertainment, nature displays and the chance to pet a menagerie of exotic animals.
During this popular event, the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission, the Marina Mammal Stranding Center, New Jersey Nature, the Sea Isle City Beachcomber Guides and other organizations will offer information and hands-on exhibits that festival-goers of all ages will enjoy.
The 2013 Sara the Turtle Festival will also feature strolling entertainers, face painters, a moon bounce, mascots and many family photo-ops. Non-walking babies will be invited to participate in the festival’s charming “Diaper Derby” and boys and girls, ages 2 to 12, can compete in the evening’s “Turtle Races” on the JFK Boulevard Beach. Awards will be presented to the winners of both competitions.
The festival will climax with live music and entertainment by The Turtlesingers, who will display a variety of live turtles and explain the important role they play in the local eco-system.
