Sea Isle City’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade to Be Held March 16

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – On March 16, Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family will host Sea Isle City’s 23rd Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Celebration. The parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. at 93rd Street and Landis Avenue and will continue north on Landis to 63rd Street, where it will culminate at KIX McNutley’s and the 2013 Irish Celebration.
As is the case each year, Mayor Desiderio will paint a customary “green line” down the center of Landis Avenue to mark the parade route.
In addition to countless green-clad spectators lining Landis Avenue, Sea Isle’s 2013 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will once again feature many participants, including the Cape Atlantic Police & Fire Irish Pipe Brigade and the Ancient Order of Hibernians Color Guard. Elected officials, civic organizations, local businesses and many others will also participate in the parade, as will Sea Isle’s 2013 “Irish Royal Family” and this year’s grand marshal, Joe McLenaghan, of Sea Isle City.
During the Irish Celebration, which will begin immediately after the parade, the public will be invited to enjoy live music and dancing inside KIX-McNutley’s.
As guests enter KIX-McNutley’s, they will be greeted by representatives from the Sea Isle City Beach Tag Office, who will be selling special edition Saint Patrick’s Day beach tags at the pre-season rate of $20 each. The commemorative beach tags, which are available in limited quantities, will serve as full-season beach passes during the 2013 summer season.
“Everyone in Sea Isle City is Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day,” said Mayor Desiderio. “In addition to being a lot of fun, the parade will also remind the world that we’re ready for another exciting summer in Sea Isle City – and we’re very eager to welcome visitors to town throughout 2013.”
Sea Isle’s 23rd Annual Saint Patrick’s Day will be dedicated to the memory of Catherine “Kitty” Kelly, a longtime local resident, who recently passed away. In addition to being an active member of the community, Kelly and her family have been avid supporters of Sea Isle’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade for many years.
