SEA ISLE CITY — Sea Isle City’s 7th Annual Irish Weekend will take place at the LaCosta Complex, JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue, Fri. to Sun., Sept. 20-22. The yearly Celtic celebration, which is once again being co-sponsored by LaCosta Lounge and KIX-McNutley’s, will feature live Irish music, dancing, an Irish Vendor’s Market, great food and countless festival-goers “wearing the green.”
Sea Isle’s 2013 Irish Weekend will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 20, when the Irish band West of Galway takes the stage at LaCosta’s outside deck. Blackthorn will also perform on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. at LaCosta’s main Lounge.
Irish Weekend will kick into high gear at 10:00 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 21, when the festival’s Irish Vendors Market opens along JFK Boulevard (west of Landis Avenue). The market, which runs until 7:00 p.m., will feature a bevy of Irish collectibles, fashion apparel, crafts and “must have” green items. In addition to an expansive selection of merchandise, the market will also feature food vendors offering many tempting selections.
Saturday’s line-up of Irish musicians will include performances by West of Galway (1:00 – 5:00 p.m.), Cletus McBride (2:00 – 7:00 p.m.), Blackthorn (3:00 – 7:00 p.m.), Round Tower (5:00 – 9:00 p.m.) Split Decision (7:00 – 11:00 p.m.) and The Insiders (10:30 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.).
Irish Weekend will continue on Sun., Sept. 22, at 11:00 a.m., when the Irish Vendors Market reopens along JFK Boulevard. Sunday’s musical entertainment will be provided by West of Galway (4:00 – 8:00 p.m.) and Blackthorn (2:00 – 6:00 p.m.).
