SEA ISLE CITY – This summer, thousands of visitors and residents have enjoyed purchasing vegetables, fruit and other items at Sea Isle City’s weekly outdoor Farmers and Craft Market. The Tuesday morning produce and craft sale is hosted by Sea Isle Revitalization, a group of local business leaders focused on further enhancing their community and creating additional attractions for the resort’s visitors.
According to Rachael Morrison, Revitalization’s executive director, the market has been very well-received by shoppers and also by the many vendors who bring their tables and tents to the resort each week.
“The market is now bigger than ever, and the vendors seem very happy to be here,” said Morrison. “This year, we decided to include crafts and other hand-made items, so now there is truly something for everyone. Each week, nearly three dozen vendors offer a wide variety of fresh produce, flowers and some great specialty items, such as pepper-jelly, clam chowder, jewelry and collectibles. It’s like a mini festival every week here in Sea Isle City.”
The weekly Farmers and Craft Market, which takes place at JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, will continue each Tuesday through August 31, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market is part of Revitalization’s “Terrific Tuesdays,” which includes sidewalk sales throughout town and also an event dubbed “Artists on Landis,” which features local artists displaying their talents along Sea Isle’s downtown business district.
