Sea Isle City’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Is March 14

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY — On March 14, Sea Isle City’s 25th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will take place starting at 3:30 p.m. along Landis Avenue, 93rd to 63rd Street.
Each year, since the parade first began, Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family have hosted the popular event – and each year, the Mayor paints a bright green stripe down the middle of Landis Avenue on the morning of the parade, which makes the parade route extra-festive. Mayor Desiderio is the only known Mayor who annually paints a green stripe along his town’s main street for a Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.
In addition to countless green-clad spectators lining the parade route, the annual procession will feature a variety of eye-catching participants, including the Cape Atlantic Police & Fire Irish Pipe Brigade, an Ancient Order of Hibernians Color Guard, and many representatives from local Irish families, civic organizations and businesses. The parade will also feature scout troops, floats, local beauty queens and numerous Municipal, County and State officials – as well as the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department Explorers, Dodge the Sheriff’s Horse, and McGruff the Crime-Fighting Dog and Eddie the Eagle mascots.
Spectators will also enjoy seeing Sea Isle’s 2015 “Irish Royal Family” and local residents George and Peggy Dunner, who will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshals.
Because this year is the resort’s 25th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, the yearly march along Landis Avenue will also include past Grand Marshals and other familiar faces from previous parades.
Immediately following Sea Isle City’s 2015 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, the public is invited to attend an Irish Celebration at KIX-McNutley’s, located on 63rd Street. The annual celebration, hosted by Mayor Desiderio and his family, will feature additional live music by the Cape Atlantic Police & Fire Irish Pipe Brigade as well as plenty of dancing and socializing.
