Sea Isle City’s Fall Family Festival Is Sept. 13-14

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY — Sea Isle City’s Division of Tourism will host the resort’s 25th Annual Fall Family Festival on Sat. and Sun., Sept. 13-14. The popular two-day event will feature a variety of free family activities, a huge vendors market, great food, live music and other entertainment.
On Sa., from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the festival’s Seaside Market will take place along the Promenade, where 400 craft and specialty vendors will offer an array of merchandise – ranging from toys, jewelry and fishing gear to home goods, artwork and fashion apparel. There will also be live music and free family activities at nearby Excursion Park, where face-painters, a photo booth, moon bounces, a “Waxy Hands” station and other enjoyment will be offered.
When festival-goers get hungry on Sat., they can enjoy the festival’s Food Court on JFK Boulevard, which will feature a variety of local delicacies.
Also on Sat., there will be a free Sand Sculpting Demonstration beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the JFK Boulevard Beach, led by Sand Pounders Professional Sand Sculptors. After learning “how to build a better sand castle,” participants will be invited to erect their own sand creations during a Family Sand Sculpting Contest. Trophies will be presented to the contest’s winners at 12 noon. To add to the event, the artists from Sand Pounders will construct a one-of-a-kind creation for all to enjoy.
At 8:00 p.m. on Sat. evening, Robert Eric will take the stage at the Excursion Park Band Shell, where he will perform a free Billy Joel tribute. Concert-goers are reminded to arrive early if they want to enjoy the park’s bench seating or bring blankets and folding chairs to recline on the park’s lawn.
On Sun., Fall Family Festival will continue with the 11th Annual Gerard A. Desiderio Antique Auto Show, which will delight car-buffs along the Promenade north of JFK Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The auto show will feature scores of classic muscle cars, sedans, trucks and other eye-catching vehicles.
Festival-goers can also enjoy live music by the Snake Brothers Band on the Promenade at JFK Boulevard on Sun. between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon. Additionally, the City will offer free Guided Historical Trolley Tours, which will take-off from Excursion Park every half-hour from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The tours will be led by members of the Sea Isle City Historical Society, who will point-out landmarks and explain how the town has evolved during the past century.
At 12 noon on Sun., the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission will distribute their yearly Beautification Awards on the Promenade at JFK Boulevard. Later, at 1:30 p.m., Mayor Len Desiderio will give trophies to the winners of the Antique Auto Show. Afterwards, the vehicles featured in the auto show will parade through town – honking their vintage horns and delighting spectators between JFK Boulevard and Townsend Inlet on Pleasure and Landis Avenues.
