Sea Isle City’s 2014 Halloween Parade is Set for Oct. 17

SEA ISLE CITY – Oct. 17, Sea Isle City’s Division of Recreation will host the resort’s annual Halloween Parade along Landis Avenue, 45th to 40th Street, where a wide variety of eye-catching participants will walk, cruise along on floats and entertain spectators lining the parade route.
During the parade, live music will be provided by The Eagles Pep Band, The Atlantic City Fire Department Sandpipers Pipe and Drum Band, The Pennsport String Band and The Ed Coles Entertainers.
Another of the parade’s many highlights will be an energetic appearance by the one-and-only Phillie Phanatic, who will delight spectators with his fun-loving antics. There will also be a special float carrying a collection of recognizable villains from the big screen that’s sure to be a favorite of families watching the parade.
Additionally, the parade will feature performers from local dance companies, representatives from Sea Isle City’s civic organizations and businesses, elected officials, and members of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department, including McGruff the Crime Dog and Eddie the Eagle. There will also be fire engines, ambulances and other rescue vehicles in the procession.
Immediately following Sea Isle’s Halloween Parade, spectators and parade participants are invited to attend the City’s annual Halloween Family Dance Party at the Excursion Park Band Shell, located at JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, where families can dance the night away to well-known Halloween classics.
During the dance party, a panel of independent judges will reveal which of the parade’s participants will receive prizes in the following categories:
– Walkers (up to age 12)
– Walkers (age 13 to adult)
– Families
– Clubs and Organizations
– Floats
