SEA ISLE CITY — The Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Octoberfest celebration on Sat., Oct. 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Most of the Octoberfest activities will take place at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, however there will also be related events taking place inside several nearby businesses.
This year’s celebration will include plenty of family-friendly entertainment, such as free hayrides on the beach and a magic show at Coffee.COMedy, 29 JFK Boulevard.
Children will be happy to learn that many activities are planned just for them, including pumpkin painting, games, pony rides, balloon art and face painting. Kids will also get plenty of exercise inside the festival’s inflatable moon bounce and on a giant obstacle course.
Children and adults will enjoy the classic sounds of an Oompah Band, which will entertain festival-goers and keep spirits high. Those with a sweet tooth won’t want to miss the annual Octoberfest Pie Baking Contest, which will take place at The Braca Café and feature many types of homemade pies.
There will also be a variety of demonstrations and displays provided by local organizations, such as the Sea Isle City Historical Society, the local Greyhound Society and the Sea Isle City Volunteer Fire Department.
When festival-goers get hungry, there will food for sale at Excursion Park; and several local watering holes are expected to offer German beer and other seasonal treats as well.
“This is going to a very nice festival, thanks to the many family activities we have planned,” said Chris Glancey, president of the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce.
“The Oompah music, the pie contest and our other activities will help make this a unique and memorable event. This is the perfect time of year to reconnect with families and friends – and to make new friends too,” he added.
In event of rain, many Octoberfest activities will take place inside the Sea Isle City Public School, 45th and Park Road.
