Sea Isle City Expects 2010 Fall Family Festival To Be Bigger Than Ever

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY– Each autumn, countless people look forward to Fall Family Festival Weekend in Sea Isle City. This year, the two-day celebration will begin on Saturday, September 18, at 9:00 a.m. with a Sand Sculpting Demonstration on the beach at JFK Boulevard. Afterwards, during the festival’s Sand Sculpting Contest, participants will build their own creations in the hopes of winning prizes and further entertaining passersby.
Fall Family Festival’s giant Seaside Market will also take place on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (rain or shine). The popular market will be located along the resort’s Promenade and will feature hundreds of vendors offering a wide variety of items, including handmade crafts and artwork, fishing gear, children’s toys, home goods and fashion apparel. The Seaside Market will also feature a fabulous Food Court, where hungry shoppers will be delighted by a variety of local delicacies.
Additional family entertainment will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at nearby Excursion Park, where live music by Hawkins Road and numerous children’s activities will be offered. Later, after the vendor’s tents and tables are folded-up and carried away, a Free Family Dance Party will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the Promenade, which will keep festival-goers smiling into the evening hours.
On Sunday, September 19, Fall Family Festival will continue with the 7th Annual Gerard A. Desiderio Antique Auto Show at 9:00 a.m. As spectators are enjoying the sparkling chrome and shiny paint jobs on scores of vintage cars and trucks, the Snake Brothers Band will fill the air with lively bluegrass music from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At the same time, Free Guided Historical Trolley Tours will take-off from JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue. These informative 30-minute tours are led by members of the Sea Isle City Historical Society and are a must for anyone interested in learning about Sea Isle’s past while enjoying an open-air ride around the island.
At the close of Fall Family Festival, an Awards Ceremony will be held on the Promenade at JFK Boulevard at 1:30 p.m., during which Mayor Leonard Desiderio will present trophies to the winners of the Antique Auto Show and plaques to local property owners nominated for Sea Isle City Beautification Awards.
The many events planned for the 2010 Fall Family Festival will keep the fun of the summer going strong in Sea Isle City – so don’t miss a moment of the enjoyment! For additional information, phone 609-263-TOUR or visit www.seaislecitynj.us.
