Sea Isle City Crowns Little Miss and Junior Miss Pageant Winners

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – On July 13, The Sea Isle City Tourism Department hosted the 2010 Little Miss and Jr. Miss Sea Isle City Pageant, which attracted three dozen beautiful young girls, who were all smiles as they walked into the Saint Joseph Church auditorium, location of the event.
Both Little Miss and Jr. Miss contestants competed in question-and-answer segments and performed dance routines for the audience. Miss New Jersey Junior National Teenager 2010 Mackenzie Olson also entertained the audience while dancing to “Cha-Cha Heels.” Judging the event were Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce Representatives Peg McDermott, Roxann Ragusa and Ruth Steedley, who clearly had their work cut out for them due to the many lovely participants. After the judges made their decisions, Mayor Leonard Desiderio announced the names of the winners and awarded trophies, sparkling tiaras and bouquets of flowers to 2010 Little Miss Sea Isle City Isabella Freund of Seaville, NJ, and Jr. Miss Sea Isle City Caroline Carpenter of Kennett Square, PA.
In the Little Miss Division (ages 5-8), the first-place runner-up was Grace Gehman, followed by Noelle Mink, the second-place runner-up. In the Jr. Miss Division (ages 9-12), the first-place runner-up was Alexandra Robinson and the second-place runner-up was Leah Kelly.
The top winners received gift certificates and various prizes from local businesses. Other contestants also received prizes, ranging from free pizzas at local eateries to gift certificates to nearby fashion boutiques. At the close of the festivities, Tourism Volunteer Jennifer Fabrico, who emceed the event, thanked the audience and the over 30 local sponsors who donated the evening’s many prizes.
According to Diane Merson from the resort’s tourism department, this was one of the most successful pageants in Sea Isle’s history. Merson also stated that this year the pageant was held at Saint Joseph Church Auditorium, an 800-seat facility, due to the event’s increased popularity in recent years.
