CAPE MAY – The Cape May Jazz Vespers series is on a roll this fall! On the heels of a great October show that brought the acclaimed and award winning Denis DiBlasio and Brian Betz to our stage, November keeps the standards in the stratosphere by welcoming saxophonist Michael Pedicin Jr. on Nov. 17 at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Pedicin starting his illustrious career in the 60’s Philly Jazz scene, which led him to be an integral part of Gamble and Huff’s Sound of Philadelphia enterprises in the 70’s. Becoming a ”first call” studio musician, Mr. Pedicin’s resume is a “who’s who” of stellar performers, including a two year stint with jazz legend Dave Brubeck.
In recent years, Michael has achieved a burst of creativity and success in not just his music but in his personal life as well achieving a Doctorate in psychology and serving as Professor of Music and Coordinator of Jazz studies at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. After releasing 12 solo albums in his career, his latest effort, “Why Stop Now…Ubuntu” is achieving commercial and critical success produced by Grammy award winning producer Joe D’Onofrio. Michael Pedicin always surrounds himself with the finest side-men and the November performance will be no exception. You won’t want to miss this show!
