COURT HOUSE – Celebrate Food Day on Oct. 24 with Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Department of Family & Community Health Sciences, 355 Court-House-So. Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ.
Food Day is a massive, nationwide mobilization for healthy, affordable food produced in sustainable, humane ways. On Oct. 24, 2011, thousands of events will take place in homes, schools, colleges, houses of worship, and farmers markets to stimulate discussion about the foods we eat and how they are produced. Join in the conversation and help promote healthy, delicious diets based more on vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to prevent obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and other costly diet-related chronic diseases. Promote health by curbing junk-food marketing to kids. Learn what “Eat real, America”, means.
Program begins at 12 noon. Participate in the discussion and sample a nutritious menu of Indian Summer Vegetable Soup and Spicy Green Salad with us! Cost is $5.00 per person. Call Marian by Oct. 20 to reserve a space at 465-5115 ext 609. Space is limited. Reserve early.
