COURT HOUSE – Roseheart Productions brings the summer to a close with a children’s production of “The Wizard of Oz”, coming to the Middle Township PAC (Performing Arts Center) on Aug. 26 and 27. While adapted from the beloved book by Frank L. Baum, Director Lori Flemming’s “re-imagined” version of the musical has one foot firmly planted in the modern world.
The production promises to be a delight for all the senses, featuring rollicking songs, both traditional and contemporary, wildly colorful scenery, and a cast that will dazzle with their costumes as well as their acting skills. Choreographer TJ Kuchon has worked with the Primary Dancers and the rest of the cast to bring exciting, contemporary dance numbers to the stage, set to both familiar “Oz” classics as well as modern tunes.
For families with very young children, the fact that the Flying Monkeys have been replaced by “Goths” makes this production suitable for all ages.
Opening night of the play is Aug. 26, with a performance at 7:00 p.m. There will be two performances on Aug. 27, featuring a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the box office of the PAC. Ticket prices are: students under 18 and senior citizens, $6; adults $10. Call the PAC box office regarding all ticket information and directions at (609) 463-1924.
Information regarding the play can also be found on Facebook/Roseheart Entertainment. Roseheart Productions is a non-profit organization.
