COURT HOUSE – Linda Gentille and The Jersey Shore Pops will be continuing their 8 concert season on July 21 at 7:00 p.m. with “The Italian Tenor” starring tenor Aaron Caruso. Aaron Caruso presents a unique show that will mesmerize the audience with the power and beauty of an operatic tenor voice singing marvelous songs and show tunes like they should be sung. Caruso has created a show which everyone will enjoy, taking the audience on a romantic journey from Hollywood, and Broadway, to Italy. This great show includes such favorites as “Be My
Love”, “O Sole Mio”, “Funiculli, Funiculla”, “That’s Amore”, “Time to Say Goodbye” and songs from the “Phantom of the Opera”.
During this show, the fantastic young tenor pays tribute to great Italian and Italian American singers such as Perry Como, Mario Lanza, Lucaino Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Dean Martin. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the death of the great American, Tenor, Mario Lanza. Lanza was a profound inspiration to Aaron. He also inspired the great Luciano Pavarotti, and even Elvis Presley. Mario was equally at home with the English sung songs of his day, show tunes, as well as the powerful songs and arias of his Italian heritage.
Conductor Linda Gentille first saw Caruso perform at a concert in New York and was amazed by his talent and versatility. She comments, “I knew Caruso would appeal to our audience after just hearing one song. He has a great stage persona and is a fabulous entertainer, not just a great tenor. This show is a crowd-pleaser, both entertaining and moving and always a great time for everyone.”
Caruso studied opera with Maestro Veccia from Rome in New York and Italy. Caruso also studied the art of entertaining an audience with ten-time, Reno, NV “Entertainer of the Year”, Danny Marona. Think: “Pavarotti meets the Rat-Pack”. Caruso presents a unique show that will mesmerize you with the beauty and power of an operatic voice singing marvelous Italian songs like they should be sung in a fun entertaining way.
“He embodies a vanishing species: the good natured, good looking, pull-out all the stops showman from the same mold that spawned Dean Martin and Danny Kaye …” – Cabaret Scenes, John Hoglund
Caruso has created a truly entertaining show, taking the audience on a romantic journey to Italy with such favorites as “Volare” and “Mamma”. Aaron will also take you to Broadway with The Phantom, and even sings the up-tempo songs of Tom Jones. Although happy for his Italian heritage, Aaron is also proud to be an American and always includes a song for our Veterans.
Caruso was chosen by film producer Sonny Grosso and 15-time Grammy winner, Phil Ramone to sing the role of Mario Lanza, which fulfills a lifelong dream: Lanza played Caruso, now Caruso will play Lanza! He has recently performed to a sold-out audience at Carnegie Hall in a tribute to Mario Lanza and on the Red Carpet event for NBC at the Columbus Day Parade in New York City. He sang to a crowd of 10,000 people in Lawrence, MA at the “Feast of the 3 Saints”. He also performed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, many casinos in Reno, NV, Atlantic City and Connecticut. Caruso has headlined hundreds of Italian Festivals across the country from San Diego to Boston and everything in between.
This show is a crowd-pleaser, both entertaining and moving and truly has something for everyone to enjoy. There is a piano solo, lots of music and laughter, and always a great time. Often ending with Bocelli’s Con Te Partiro or Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma”, this show is filled with spontaneous standing ovations from beginning to end.
He has performed to rave reviews, including the following:
“Aaron’s performance was stellar and excited the audience to a level we have never experienced with any performer at our event thus far.” -Giovanna DiBona, San Diego Sicilian Festival
