“Christmas Eve Eve”

By Press Release

OCEAN CITY – Only a few seats remain for Ocean City Repertory Theater’s “Christmas Eve Eve” celebration.
Hosted and staged by producing artistic director Flossi Micciolo, the event will combine holiday music, readings, food and festivities.
“I wanted to add another Christmas show to our repertoire and I couldn’t decide on a date,” Micciolo said. “Ironically, I had a dream about an event on the day before Christmas eve. From that, Christmas Eve Eve was born.”
Micciolo describes the event as “fun for the whole family.”
Returning to the Repertory Theater stage, Andrew Hink will perform on piano, accompanied by vocalists Amanda Desouza, Angelica Mathis and Rachel McGettigan. The musical selections will feature a mix of holiday tunes that range from classics such as “The Christmas Song” to the lighter “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”
“This will be a delightful and uplifting seasonal celebration featuring a wonderful blend of sacred and secular, popular and traditional Christmas music,” Micciolo said. “We will also have dramatic readings of stories from O. Henry, Truman Capote, Charles Dickens, Dylan Thomas, Dr. Seuss and more.”
Guest readers for the evening will include Dayle Friedman, Joe Terrazzini, Ella Sadler, Mia Terrazzini, Deanna Terrazzini and Jim Kelsh.
Also to be directed by Flossi Micciolo, “The Elves And The Shoemaker” – a show fun for the whole family.
When a kindly shoemaker gives his only remaining pair of shoes to a cold and hungry beggar woman, he finds his good deed rewarded in very unexpected ways. The shoemaker is shocked by the appearance of magic elves who turn his simple shoe shop into a great success, thrilling customers with their special creations. Based on the tale by the Brothers Grimm, this beloved, warm-hearted story is perfect for the holiday season, reminding us that where we find goodness, generosity and hope, anything is possible.
Isaac Eberly, 10, of Ocean City, portrays the shoemaker, Mia Terrazzini, 7, of Ocean City, portrays the shoemaker’s wife, Sebastian and Elijah Kuchler, both 8 of Northfield, portray the elves and Gabby Greene, 7 of Ocean City portrays a customer at the shoe shop.
“This is a great time of year for OC Rep Theater,” said Flossi Micciolo. “I love that we are able to bring joy and magic into children’s lives.”
The event will begin at 8 p.m., Dec. 23, at the Repertory Theater at 813 Asbury Ave., Ocean City. Traditional holiday refreshments will be served.
The event is being sponsored by Councilman Keith Hartzell.
For reservations, those interested can call (609) 457-6686. Additional information can also be found on the theater’s Website at www.ocrep.org.
