Stone Harbor — If Mac McAnally never sang or played another note of music, his place in music history is more than assured. Mac started young in the music industry, touring local clubs at age 13, and has emerged as one of the most widely recognized singer/songwriters in history. Mac has gained the attention of music moguls such as Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith and is currently on tour with Jimmy Buffet’s Band, the Coral Reefers.
On Sunday, Aug. 8, the Princeton Bar and Grille will be hosting a Benefit Concert for the Wetlands Institute featuring An Evening with Mac McAnally. Mac is taking a break from his local Coral Reefers tour stops (Aug. 7th and 10th at the Susquehanna Bank Center) to visit Avalon and entertain with some great songs and fascinating stories of his life in the music industry.
The Wetlands Institute, a local non-profit organization, promotes the conservation and preservation of coastal ecosystems by providing a fun and educational experience for families, school groups and vacationers of all ages. The Institute, widely known as The Natural Place to Have Fun Learning, hosts over 40,000 visitors annually through their hands-on demonstrations, programs and special events.
“It’s really important for the Institute to host unique events such as this one, that will help to convey our mission of conserving wetlands and coastal ecosystems to new audiences,” said Cindy O’Connor, Wetlands Institute Executive Director. “Mac’s reputation precedes him, and I am so excited to work with him and the Princeton on this great event.”
Tickets for the evening are on sale at The Wetlands Institute and The Princeton and are $45/person. Mac McAnally’s full biography can be found on his website at www.macmcanally.com . For questions or more information, please call The Wetlands Institute at 609-368-1211.
