WILDWOOD CREST – Stormfront, a Billy Joel tribute band, rocked a crowd of 1,000 at a free concert here in Centennial Park, Sat., Aug, 7.
Of all the concerts presented this summer in the park, Stormfront seemed to connect the most with the audience ranging in age from toddlers to seniors.
Billy Joel has always had a huge following in Philly and New York and this spot on tribute had the audience on its feet for “It’s Still Rock n Roll to Me” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” The Wildwoods are filled with Philadelphia and New York residents this time of year, so the concert was a perfect fit.
Billy Joel was portrayed by Mike O’Brien backed by a solid band. The show closed with “Only the Good Die Young” and the “Piano Man.”
The show included Billy Joel albums track such as “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,” and “Billy the Kid.”
