CAPE MAY — Coast Guard Training Center Cape May will open its gate to the public for a presentation by CDR Bill Moeller (USCG Ret.) at 7:00 p.m. July 13. CDR Moeller will discuss the inside story of the Coast Guard Cutter Tamaroa’s 1991 rescue effort of a downed Air National Guard Helicopter, an event featured in the Sebastian Junger’s book “The Perfect Storm” and the film of the same name. Having served as a junior officer serving on board the Tamaroa, CDR Moeller will share his eye witness account of this harrowing event.
