Parrotheads Plan Family Picnic in June

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — The Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties will hold its annual family picnic, June 13, from 2 p.m. to dusk at Harry Bowen Memorial Field in Port Republic.
Club members invite everyone to come share an afternoon of camaraderie and fun, parrot head style, with music, games, and activities for the parakeets. Go for a swim at a life guarded beach and batter up for a parrot head softball game!
Special check presentations will be made to local charities Volunteers in Medicine and the Brendan Borek Hide Tides Memorial Fund. These donations come from the proceeds of Spring Island Frenzy, the club’s annual fundraising event held every April. The Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club has donated over $60,000 to local charities in the last decade.
Each family is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share, beverages, softball equipment and beach chairs. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided by the Ocean Drive Club, of Sea Isle City. Parrot head club merchandise will be available for purchase. Please RSVP to Chuck at c.endicott@comcast.net.
The park is located at 143 Main Street, adjacent to City Hall in Port Republic. For detailed directions, visit http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Port+Republic&state=NJ&address=143+Main+Street&zipcode=08241.
The Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club brings together people with similar interests in the music of Jimmy Buffet and organizes social gatherings, charitable fundraisers and community service events throughout the year.
