SOMERS POINT – Join members of the Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties for “Island Night” at Applebees Restaurant in Somers Point on Tuesday, August 3.
In addition to a fun social event, participants will have the opportunity to help raise funds for a worthy local cause: FACES, the Autism Support Network of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. Through their “Dining to Donate” program, Applebees is dedicating the entire day, beginning at 11:00 a.m., to the parrothead club’s chosen charity. All customers who present the “Dining to Donate” flyer along with their checks will have 10% of their total donated to FACES.
JSPH Club members will be on hand from 7:00 p.m. to midnight with island music and décor as well as club merchandise. Steel Drum Musician Bill Bittman will entertain from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, and Applebees will offer beverage specials all day.
The “Dining to Donate” flyer is available for download on the club’s website, www.jsphc.com. Diners must present the flyer in order to have their 10% count. Applebees is located at 51 Bethel Road, in Somers Point, next to ShopRite.
Living the motto of “party with a purpose,” the Jersey Shore Parrot Head Club brings together people with similar interests in the music and lifestyle of Jimmy Buffet and organizes a number of charitable fundraisers, community service events and fun social gatherings throughout the year. Club members have raised and donated $65,000 to local charities in the last decade.
