OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Historical Museum announces its Thursday Nights at the Museum summer lecture series beginning June 17 and continuing through Sept. 2.
June 17 will feature Sixty Summers in Ocean City with William H. Parkhurst; June 24, Buckets of Fun: Sand Pails and Beach Toys with Robert Smith; July 1, 100 Years of Boy Scouts with Rocky Gannon; July 8, 131 Years of Real Estate in Ocean City with Ken Cooper; July 15, OC Fire Department with Capt. Bob Stanton; July 22nd Secrets of the Vault: Museum Treasures; July 29 Ocean City Beach Patrol with Fred Miller; August 5th “Who’s Where” in the local cemeteries with Jim Campbell; Aug. 12th Simon Lake’s Submarine Legacy and his inventive nature with Bill Jenkins.
Aug. 19, Researching your Home with County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti; August 26, Then & Now, a Pictorial Essay of Ocean City with Michael McMahon, and Sept. 2, The Roaring ‘20s: What We Were Singing with Drs. Richard and Rebecca Stanislaw
All lectures are free and are held at 7 p.m. in the new lecture hall at the Ocean City Community Center 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City.
The Buckets of Fun: Sand Pails & Beach Toys exhibit opening reception will be held on June 24 from 6-7 in the Historical Museum.
There will also be special receptions prior to the lectures on July 22 and Sept. 2 from 6:30 to 7 in the Historical Museum.
The lecture series is made possible through an outreach-funding grant provided by the Ocean City Free Public Library Board of Trustees. Additional funding support provided by the City of Ocean City.
