Ocean City’s Earth Day Celebration will be held on Sat., April 16th at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. to coincide with the Doo Dah Parade. There will be environmental displays, Green Giveaways, Children’s Activities, Mascots and entertainment. For information, call 609-525-9281.
Ocean City’s 26th Annual Doo Dah Parade is set for Sat., April 16 starting at noon.
Harlem Globe Trotter legend, Meadowlark Lemon, will be grand marshal. The Parade starts at 6th and Asbury Ave., goes to 12th and Asbury and then to the Boardwalk ending at the Music Pier. Following the Parade the popular PieAsco is set during which people smoosh each other with shaving cream pies as a tribute to the late Soupy Sales. And yes, there will be over 500 basset hounds waddling in the Parade.

April Library Events, 1735 Simpson Ave.: The Packaged Goods Orchestra will entertain on Sun., April 10 from 2 to3:30 p.m. at the Ocean City Free Public Library’s Lecture Room N110, enter on 17th Street side of the Library. Admission, free.
The Ocean City Pops Brass Ensemble is scheduled for a free concert in the lecture room on Mon., April 11th at 7 p.m. playing selections from the Roaring Twenties, ragtime and patriotic marches.
Magician Brian Richards will help celebrate National Library week with his World of Magic Show on Tues., April 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library’s Lecture Room. This free show will appeal to children ages 6 and up.
A Libraries of the Ancient World Lecture will be presented by Ms. Ann Guinan, of the University of Pennsylvania on Sat., April 16 at noon, free. An Eyes of the Wild Animals program is set for Tues., April 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the lecture room featuring some surprising live animals. Children ages 6-12 should be prepared to enjoy some “wild” fun! Travis Gale of Wallaby Tales and Eyes of the Wild will be the presenter. Free.
The Classic Film Discussion Group with Dr. Walter Brown will meet in the Lecture Room for free Showings of the following: North by Northwest, (NR), April 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Notorious (NR) on April 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dr. Brown will present each film and briefly discuss its cinematic importance.
Free 2 p.m. Saturday Afternoon movies include April 9, Tangled (PG), April 16, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (PG-13) and April 30, Tron-Legacy (PG) in the Lecture Room, refreshments provided.

The City’s 5th Annual End to End Bike Tour will be held Sat., April 30 with a 10 a.m. start. The 8 mile cycling event begins at the Lifeguard Station, 58 and Central and finishes at the Longport Bridge parking lot. Proceeds benefit community service projects.
