NORTH WILDWOOD – Friday, July 22 from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. at Inlet Beach, North Wildwood will mark the North Wildwood Beach Patrol’s 3rd annual “DAY AT THE BEACH” with the 21 Down organization. 21 Down is a non-profit, Down’s Syndrome awareness group serving the families, educators and healthcare professionals of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. Together 21 Down creates a network of families who share information and support.
“The ultimate goal of 21 Down is for our children and families to be accepted within the community. We strive to have our children seen as caring and feeling individuals participating in school activities, work environments, and public outings. We want our families’ lives to be enriched with happiness and pleasant memories”
The North Wildwood Beach Patrol with the support of local community businesses helps to create great a summer memory for these children and their families.
NWBP “DAY AT THE BEACH” incorporates not only safe guarded ocean play time for the children but also interactions with our seasoned lifeguards as beach safety is reinforced. A central meeting area is set up at our inlet beach, lunch and beverages provided, and activities organized. Events include a beach treasure hunt and soft-top paddleboard rides in the waves with our lifeguards… the highlight of our day!
Last year, North Wildwood Mayor William Henfey joined us on the inlet beach and we hope you can, too. Photo opportunities are numerous and the NWBP wants to highlight a truly successful event with these special local children and their families. We expect over 25 families and their children, totaling over 70 participants.
