CAPE MAY – There’s plenty to do in the fall and there’s no better way to spend a sunny afternoon than a stroll around Cape May’s quaint streets for an art-full day at the Second Sunday Gallery Walk on Sun., Nov. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Second Sunday of each month gives you an opportunity to chat with the featured artist and enjoy free refreshments while viewing fine crafts and art in all mediums made by a variety of local artists.
Start your walk at the Cape May Artist Cooperative located just inside the West End Garage at 484 West Perry Street where Diane and Rich Flanegan will showcase their stain-glass objects, paintings and drawings along with Mary Stewart’s fiber art.
Next stop is The Carpenter’s Square Mall at 31 Perry Street where Spirit Catcher Photography will be exhibiting new images from Award Winning Photographer’s, Tina Giaimo and Don Merwin, also featuring their metal and canvas prints.
Just down the hall in Carpenter Square Mall, SOMA NewArt Gallery has several local artist’s work in a brand new show.
Richard Samuelson’s, with his digital mixed media images, Samuel Donovan’s Watercolor Paintings, Bruce Hippel, “Dreaming Cats”, intricate stained glass panels and Robin Hippel’s Sculptural Ceramics. At Splash Whales Tale Gallery, just 2 blocks away at 513 Carpenters Lane look for their large selection of sea-inspired handcrafted art and jewelry and local pottery. New artwork continues to arrive all the time so stop by and see the newest creation.
Take a short stroll past Victorian houses and B&B’s to the Gail Pierson Gallery, located at 658-660 Washington Street, where it’s the Prickley Pear Weekend – New Works from the Cape May County Art League members. There’s always new and interesting artists showcased here.
You can end your Second Sunday Gallery Walk at the Mad Batter Restaurant at 19 Jackson Street. An Artists Reception will be held here from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. with Watercolors by Tom Pohig and a group show, “Sister’s Art” with Mosaics by The Huber Sister’s, Pam, Robyn and Marta Kulkowitz.
Happy Hour runs from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and visitors to the show receive a 15% discount on dinner afterwards.
