Night in Paris Dinner, Glass Demo Slated at Rio Station

By Herald Staff

RIO GRANDE — Come out for a Night in Paris at the Rio Station Restaurant on Thurs., June 20 beginning at 6 p.m. Watch the Riedel Glass Demonstration and learn how wine tastes better in the correct glass.
The five-course dinner begins at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by Victor Coulon. Start out with scallops stuffed with crab meat, then try the lamb chops, short ribs with local produce, and last the cheese plate. Each course is paired with wines from the Rhone Region of France. According to the International Wine Report, their wine, Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf-du-Pape Boisrenard 2010, was voted in the top 50 wines and ranked number 14 for 2012.
The fruit to make the wine comes from the Roussanne vineyard of Domaine des Escarravailles. The vineyards run over 1,350 hectares, of which 1,150 are Rasteau AC reds. This is a night that you do not want to miss and if you go it will be one that you will never forget. You will leave with a greater knowledge of wine that you can pass along to your family and friends.
Rio Station is located in the Grande Center Shopping Mall in Rio Grande. For more information call, 609-889-2000.
