CAPE MAY – Cape May County is like no other place on earth. Our peninsula serves as the perfect resting opportunity for thousands of migrating birds, bats, butterflies, and dragonflies. Even whales can be seen transiting off our beaches during their own migrations. New Jersey Audubon invites all Cape May County kids to learn more about what makes their home special by participating in this Cape May-zing Migration Book Contest.
This contest can be done as a group project composed of classmates, scout troops, packs, home school friends, really any group of five or more students. Create your book, fiction or nonfiction, about one or more of the creatures that migrates through or offshore Cape May County. All artwork is to be student originals, and various media are acceptable. After laminating each page, bind your book together, label it with the teacher or leader, identity and town of the group then submit it by 2:00 p.m. Oct. 18 to:

All entries will be on display at Cape May Convention Hall during New Jersey Audubon’s Autumn Weekend, The Bird Show, Oct. 24 – Nov. 16. In addition, one winning class, scout group, or home school group, based on grade level, will be entitled to a pizza party at date and time of their convenience. Winning groups will be recognized at a special ceremony during The Bird Show Oct. 25 at 1:00. Free admission will be provided for each student and their parent at this event.
