CAPE MAY — The Nature Center’s Harborside Lectures continue on Tues. night, March 11 with a presentation by Clare Juechter on the practice of whaling in Cape May County, and the impact that whaling had on our Colonial economy. Having grown up in a Coast Guard family, Juechter traces her roots to the early 18th Century in Cape May County; the sea, ships and whaling are in her blood. As Chief Administrative Officer of Historic Cold Springs Village she strives to connect present residents of Cape May County with this exciting and important aspect of our history.
Harborside Lectures are held inside the Charlotte Todd Education Hall at the Nature Center of Cape May on Tuesday nights beginning at 6:00 p.m. Lectures are free although a donation to support renovation projects is requested.
