WILDWOOD — This June marks the 16th anniversary of the Mummers Brigade Weekend in the Wildwoods, as events take place Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12.
The excitement kicks off Friday, June 11, at 7 p.m., with the Mummers Pub Crawl. Mummers’ members and friends will celebrate the brigade’s return to the Wildwoods by visiting some of North Wildwood’s most well known establishments.
The fun continues on Saturday, June 12, with the Mummers Parade on Second and Olde New Jersey avenues in North Wildwood. The parade starts at 4:45 p.m. and will feature the top seven brigades from this year’s New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia.
The brigades will perform without the pressure of competition, and spectators will be able to get up-close views of the beautiful costumes and intricate dance steps these eccentric performers display. Don’t be surprised if you are asked to join in the fun and learn the famous “Mummers Strut.” The Mummers Parade is free to attend.
Save the date for the Mummers String Band Saturday on Sept.11, in the Wildwoods. For additional information about these events, please call 609-522-2955 or visit www.northwildwood.com.
