Military Timeline comes to life

Historic Cold Spring Village will be hosting Military Timeline Weekend June 20-21, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., featuring encampments, weaponry, and demonstrations from living history groups depicting various conflicts throughout the centuries.
The re-enactor groups span from several centuries and time periods.
Beginning with an Imperial Roman infantry encampment, the Legio XXIV Media Atlanta will be featuring artillery demonstrations with a ballista catapult.
La Belle Compagnie will present English infantry and archers from the Hundred Years War (1337-1453).
Highlights from Civil War groups will include a Union Army field hospital and dismounted Confederate cavalry. A display of Civil War weapons from historian Jack Meyers’ collection will be on display in the Welcome Center.
A German World War II infantry group will be demonstrating military life, and author Sharon Wells-Wagner will be providing a book signing for Red Wells: An American Soldier in World War II, and Ordinary Heroes: Untold Stories of World War II.
Aircraft and displays will be presented by Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum including an OH-47C Korean War evacuation helicopter.
Tom Collins, combat veteran, will present Vietnam War weapons and objects from the Forgotten Warriors Vietnam Museum.
Historic Cold Spring Village is located at 720 Route 9, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and four miles south of Rio Grande, exit 4A from the Garden State Parkway.
